It is fascinating to me how much society has evolved with technology. As stated in the book, Tech Tools 1.1 are tablets, smartphones and laptops and three ways it is being used in the classroom. One way is Inside-the-Classroom can be beneficial but like everything else it has its' challenges. Technology plays an enormous role in today's society. As stated in the book , when you enter teaching you will quickly find that every part of the job is tied to computers and the information they help you access, manage, and share with students. When I become a teacher, I hope to integrate all aspects of current technology in my classroom. Tech tools are a great way to get students involved. They often can be very helpful to students and teachers. There are many different Apps that can be used for thousands of different educational purposes.
Second concept: Technology- based learning environment. Learning via electronic technology, includes, the Internet, intranets, satellite broadcasts, audio and video conferencing bulletin boards, chat rooms, webcast. This concept of learning goes beyond the classroom. I have been taking online course and what I have experience is that the interface is always changing. I hope I said that right. The online availability gives me the opportunity to get some of my courses online and not actually attend a classroom. It is a somewhat of a time and gas saver. Also with the Technology-based learning environment provides assistance in government, industry and education in distance learning. There is no more need for face-to-face instruction. All of these are great resources that make technology bases learning easy and effective. An idea I have when I have my own classroom is to do a video conference with my students when I am out due to a personal issue. This will help the substitute in my classroom with preparing the students for the lesson and any work that they will have assigned to them for that given day.
The third concept is Technological pedagogical content knowledge (TPACK). This concept will bring three forms of knowledge to student in their learning. A combination of essential academic subject matter, teaching methods, instructional design and curriculum development and knowing how to use many different technologies in teaching will definitely be very useful to a teacher in the 21st Century. It is very important to have the ability to know what to teach the students and be able to have different methods of technology to implement in everyday teaching.
In conclusion, technology is changing rapidly in today's society. Also as part of society, we must be able to learn the different concepts in the use of technology in the classroom. I can only hope that I will be able to understand the different types of concepts in today's technology. As I go forward in becoming a teacher, I will be able to combine all of these concepts to my teaching.
